Altairnano Satisfies Warranty Claim Issues with Electric Vehicle Manufacturer
Ontario, Calif., - March 12, 2008 - Phoenix Motorcars, a California based electric vehicle company, is working closely with its battery supplier, Altairnano (NASDAQ: ALTI), to rectify warranty claims for configuration issues related solely to the Generation 1 battery model. Phoenix had shifted to the revised and improved Generation 2 battery in late 2007, making the configuration issues unrelated to all-electric sport utility trucks (SUT) and sport utility vehicles (SUV) that are scheduled to roll-out to fleet customers in 2008.
"In November 2007, Phoenix Motorcars announced its shift to the improved Generation 2 batteries and has worked with Altairnano to provide our future users with a robust and reliable vehicle," said Daniel J. Elliott, CEO of Phoenix Motorcars. "The configuration issues discovered by Altairnano are related to the Generation 1 battery that Phoenix purchased prior to the shift to Generation 2. Both Phoenix and Altairnano are being diligent during the research and development phase, allowing us to make necessary adjustments before releasing to market." Phoenix has not yet released product to market, but is scheduled to do so in 2008.
Phoenix continues to support Altairnano. "We wholeheartedly support Altairnano's technology and believe they provide the greatest product available on the market today," said Elliott.
Phoenix Motorcars has taken orders for fleet-ready vehicles for delivery in 2008 to premier fleet companies such as Pacific Gas & Electric, City of Santa Monica, County of San Bernardino, County of Fresno and many others.
